Navy EA-6B Prowler Sunset Celebration

June 25-27, 2015 – NAS Whidbey Island, WA

The Navy will cease fleet EA-6B operations in 2015. The Commander, Electronic Attack Wing, US Pacific Fleet (CVWP) is organizing appropriate activity and ceremony to commemorate the conclusion of
44 years of VAQ Prowler history.
The objectives of the celebration are to:

  • Provide a place and time for the EA-6B community (active duty, veterans, industry, and their families) to meet and celebrate,
  • Inform the active duty EA-18G personnel of the EA-6B community accomplishments and
  • Share the celebration with the local community which has supported the base, squadrons and families throughout EA-6B operations.

Thursday and Friday events are by registration and open to EA-6B community veterans, government and industry personnel and their families and friends.

The Friday Prowler Memorial Ceremony is an official CVWP event. In addition to Navy, government, and industry dignitaries and the active VAQ community, all Prowler Sunset Celebration registrants are invited.

On Saturday access to Hangar 5 expands to the general public as part of the NAS Whidbey Island Open House.
